The Ignatius Exercises
19th Annotation
of the
Ignatius Exercises
The Spiritual Exercises are an experience of daily prayers that draw you into the very heart of God. When a participant of these exercises encounters His love, he or she is changed. The virtues of faith, hope, and love are increasingly evident in your life. The process deepens a personal relationship with the Trinity and an intimate friendship forms. An additional fruit of the experience is an emerging interior freedom from sins and from a disordered life. The space created by this freedom fosters generous responses to God’s invitations in life.
The Exercises include spending an hour a day praying and reflecting on assigned scriptures and meeting weekly for Spiritual Direction. This process typically lasts nine to ten months. It is recommended that you refrain from any other trainings and studies so that you may give generously of your time to the Lord. If you are currently engaged with a Spiritual Director, you will go on hiatus until you have completed the Exercises. Spiritual Direction will be offered in my home or via video conferencing.
This is a shortened version of the Spiritual Exercises and is designed for groups. Similar to the 19th Annotation, group members will pray and reflect on assigned scriptures for an hour each day (individually) and meet weekly for Group Spiritual Direction. This group sharing enhances your individual journey as you see the richness of what others are experiencing. And you begin to notice how God meets each of us uniquely, according to how we are created. The 18th Annotation group will meet for 12 consecutive weeks.
